I contacted RUV about it as well, and got the same reply that it was lost from the archives.
I believe that it was... like I said, it wasn't released on Anthology. Surely Quarashi would have included on Anthology if it had been available. When I asked Solvi about it, he directed me to Kari, saying that as their manager, he had recordings of all their music videos, TV appearances and whatnot. Kari told me that his PC which had all the material on it crashed and he lost everything.
It looks like it actually was lost forever, along with much more rare material. The only chance of ever finding that material seems to be from fans who bootlegged the stuff back in the day, like this guy who taped the Switchstance video from Icelandic TV in 1996.
What's cool about it, is Quarashi themselves seem to be happy when we find this stuff. I guess they like seeing the "lost" stuff as well.

I haven't talked to him, but I should. If he has this, there's no telling what other rare material he may have.
It looks to me like it was taped from an old Icelandic music TV show... I'm guessing a music video countdown sort of show.
I asked Solvi and Kari (Quarashi's manager) about this video and neither of them had it or knew what happened to it. Apparently they were being honest because the video wasn't included on Anthology.
Savon didn't have it either. I figured if they didn't have it, and Quarashi themselves didn't have it, then it must be lost forever. Glad I was wrong!

Thanks to trallilalli on YouTube, you can now enjoy the full, official music video for Quarashi's "Switchstance", which must have been released sometime in 1996 (correct me if I'm wrong).
This is probably Quarashi's #1 rarest music video, so this is incredible. I thought I had done well by finding the "Baseline" and "Stars" videos before Anthology came out, but this tops my finds!
Thanks again to trallilalli
EDIT: I thought I would post this here rather than the Audio / Video section on the forums, so that everyone who visits can see this, member or not.
For those of you that have not registered, please do so, and get access to the Audio / Video section of these forums! The member's only section includes many more rare Quarashi finds.

Godman is most likely Icelandic. I don't speak Icelandic so I don't really know. I'll look into it though as I'm curious myself.
If I remember correctly, Steua was recorded by Solvi in South America. He heard some kids rapping or something and took out a microphone to record them. That's what I understand but I could be wrong.

Quarashi to officially release new compilation album, "Anthology". "Anthology" will be a 3 disc compilation album. It will be the first album of any kind to be officially released by Quarashi since "Guerilla Disco", in 2005. The set will consist of 2 CD's, and 1 DVD. The first disc of the set, will focus on Quarashi's 20 most popular hits. The second CD of the set will focus on rare, un-released, demos, and b-sides material from Quarashi. The third disc of the set, the DVD, will contain all of Quarashi's music videos, rare concert footage and backstage clips, interviews, and concert footage from Quarashi's final concert in July at Club NASA in Iceland. One of the songs from the upcoming albun's second disc, "Beat Em" was a song that Quarashi had planned to release on the 2002 album "Jinx", but didn't finish it in time to fully produce it for the album. Quarashi has uploaded the song to Soundcloud for fans to listen to and have a preview of the upcoming album. Listen to "Beat Em:, from the upcoming album "Anthology", here: soundcloud.com/bigital/quarashi-beat-em?utm_source=soundcloud&utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=facebook&utm_content=http%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fbigital%2Fquarashi-beat-emBe sure to keep a watch on Quarashi's official Facebook page for updates and news! www.facebook.com/pages/Quarashi-official/198869463483759-------- If I understand correctly, un-released singles like "Mess It Up" and "Ord Mord" will be included on this album. I sure hope so, because I have always wanted those songs on an official release. The sound quality is always so much better!

Very cool stuff. How about pictures of the DVD and sample disc? And are the new uploads of the GD videos higher quality than the previous ones? I'll include the scans of the DVD and sampler disc in a moment. To be honest, I don't know if the new video uploads are higher quality. These videos were ripped directly from the DVD, and the previous downloads were directly from Quarashi's old official website.

Remember this post from Quarashi's official website back in 2005? I came across this set on Ebay and made an offer. It was accepted, so I was able to get it. I've scanned and taken pics of everything in the box set, and put everything on my website. You can view everything about the set here: quarashimusic.blogspot.com/2011/08/quarashi-metal-box-set.htmlIf anyone knows how many of these boxes were made, I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know. I know that very few were made, but I can't remember the exact amount. The box set came with the Icelandic releases of "Jinx" and "Guerilla Disco" (red bonus track version), a DVD, a sampler disc with hits from Guerllia Disco and Jinx, a biography booklet, autographed photos of the band members, pictures of the band, and a poster. The DVD contains all of Quarashi's music videos from "Guerilla Disco", including 'Race City'. It also contains the same biography that is printed in the booklet. The main menu of the DVD has a cool intro video that I uploaded to Youtube here: All in all, this box set is amazing for us collectors, and was a great buy in my opinion. I was a little disappointed at the sampler disc, because all the songs on it are already contained on the albums that came with the box set, but the poster, pictures, and DVD were all great - and the metal box is heavy! Plus, my "Jinx" copy was wearing and the booklet was torn and the case was in poor condition. Plus, I only had the Japanese Guerilla Disco, so I didn't have "Dead Man Walking" or "Crazy Bastard" on official CD. If anyone has anything else they want to see from the box set that I did not upload to the blog, feel free to let me know and I'll do what I can to grant your request.

Just curious Maestro, what were the "rare tracks" that you had on your site back in the day?

It's a bad time to be broke. Not only is the Metal Box I mentioned earlier on Ebay right now, but so is the Egg album - for $199 and $99, respectively. I once bid $70 on the egg album but lost the bid. Unfortunately, I'm broke right now so can't bid on anything. I sure would love to have both though. It's killing me to know what is on the "sample CD with seven additional songs" that's included in that metal boxset.
