This album contains scans of Switchtance, Egg, Xeneizes, and Guerrilla Disco (Icelandic red). There are pictures of the front and back of the sleeve that KUJ came in. There's also a picture of what seems to be a very early EMI promo copy of Xeneizes. s4.photobucket.com/albums/y147/elyk89/quarashi%20cd%20scans/I also own the green Icelandic version of Guerrilla Disco and could scan it, if anyone wants it.

Thanks a lot for posting this! Neat stuff to see those old extremely rare CD's like the EMI promotional copy of Xeneizes. Plus, I don't have Kristnihald Undir Jökli so it was new seeing the back cover.
I also wanted to say thanks for contributing so much so early!

I try and do what I can... we both know there's so much media and information that so few people have. It would be a shame to not share this stuff. Another rare piece I remember was an unauthorized record (as in, vinyl album) that contained the song Guerrilla Disco. It was for sale on ebay Australia several years ago. At the time, no one knew what it was and it ended up selling for dirt cheap. Looking back, it was something I should have jumped on.

Yeah. When I got into Quarashi around 2002 (as I had not heard of them before they came here to the USA) no one had any clue what material of theirs would become rare. I remember seeing the Xeneizes album for around $10 on an Icelandic music store website, but never thought to buy it. Years later, I paid $40 for it on Ebay. Not much earlier, I paid $50 for Guerilla Disco on Ebay. It was worth it though!
Haha, and while we're on the subject, I bid $70 for the egg album on Ebay. I didn't win and haven't seen a copy since. Of course, don't have the money anymore either haha.

I ordered Guerrilla Disco through Bad Taste the day it was released, and I picked up Xeneizes at the same time... that was one of my smarter moves. My biggest regret is not getting the two vinyls for $75 when they were cleaning out... I still kick myself for that. Now I also wish I would have got a copy of KUJ when it was available. That's the only album I have never seen for sale used through the usual sources. I would kill to get my hands on a copy now; I like that album more than Egg and Switchstance. Even Switchstance has popped up a few times for sale (last time at $300). Two copies of Egg were on ebay two weeks ago. I bid up to about $70 and was outbid in a last few seconds. I had a higher bid set to go, but somehow I messed up and didn't click the right button to put it through. Egg does come up about every month though, so I will get my hands on a copy some day...
I was feeling the Quarashi magic today and decided it was time to get the Japan version of GD. Got a used copy for $18 shipped... if I don't get it now, I know I'll be pissed years from now that I didn't. And I had money in Paypal already, so why not?

I haven't seen KUJ either. I saw the $300 Switchstance on Ebay too. Just didn't have the money for it. I have to say that the most impressive thing I've seen on Ebay was the limited Collector's Metal Box set. I believe it was $300 at first listing - not sure if it's still there. I remember seeing that on the official website years ago back when it was first manufactured. The website is dead now so i can't check, but I believe Solvi who posted it said that only 4-5 were made... and I don't remember how they decided who to give them to.
Good move by ordering the Japanese release of GD. That's the version I have. Comes with a lyrical booklet in addition to the album booklet. Unfortunately, some of the lyrics on that official booklet are wrong, but Tiny just told me through email earlier today he wants to correct all of the GD lyrics and post them on my site. I'm looking forward to that.

The box set is still listed with a $200 buy it now price. The same seller also has a copy of the Switchstance vinyl (number 100/100). I search ebay every few days hoping something new will come up.
I do have to say the artwork on the Japanese GD is a bit ugly compared to the Icelandic versions... the green one is my favorite. I'm excited to see the correct lyrics posted. There have always been those few lines that aren't completely clear.

I check Ebay every few days also when I have the money to bid.
It's funny you should say the artwork for the Japan GD is ugly, because it's my favorite album cover of all the Quarashi albums - that's why I use a similar artwork scheme for my Quarashi websites. It was designed by Omar himself.

That's an interesting bit... didn't know it was designed by Omar. The Icelandic version was designed by Steinar Valdimar Pálsson. The photography is listed as being done by Ari Magg (www.arimagg.com). Guerrilla Disco isn't shown in his portfolio... and for good reason. His work is phenomenal; it's worth taking a look at.

I'm curious, do you have any scan you could upload of the front and back artwork of that EMI promotional copy of Xeneizes, and a higher-res cover of KUJ. Maybe a KUJ disc scan?

If I remember right, the EMI promo was just in a paper sleeve.
That's all I have of KUJ... I also wish I had more pictures of it.
