Wasn't me. Not only do I not have a record player, but I thought this was a fake. It looked like the labels were printed out of MS Word, and that Q logo on the label looked like the one that used to be a the Quarashi pad fan website.
I'm sure I was wrong about it being fake, just saying why i didn't bid on it.
What I'm really interested in is the Quarashi Metal Box set that's listed for $199. Just can't afford it at the moment.

Any chance you could get some high quality scans of KUJ? I second that. I would love to have a hard copy of KUJ but it just seems impossible to find. I've seen Switchstance on Ebay more than I've seen KUJ. I have to say though, back on topic, that I will be adding to my collection the new CD/DVD that they release after the concert. Can't wait for that. A professionally recorded Quarashi live CD has always been a dream of mine.

Someone had better be recording the whole thing! Rumor is that they might be recording the concert and using footage from it in the new Quarashi documentary! Read more about it here: www.thequarashivibe.com/

Here is the press release I was sent.
Quarashi returns - for one gig only
Quarashi have agreed to perform a one off gig at a festival in Iceland early july this summer. The band will perform on the 9th of july at the Best Festival (Besta hátíðin). All formers members have agreed to return. The two core line-ups with Hössi and Tiny are set to collide for the first time on stage. The other three members; Sölvi Blöndal, Steini Fjeldsted and Ómar Swarez will all be back at their places.
This will be the first time that the band re-unites after their break up in 2005. The band sold 400 thousand copies world-wide during the eight years active. Moreover Quarashi reached four gold albums in Iceland but suddenly called it quits after their last effort, Guerilla Disco, went gold in Japan.
Quarashi saw their U.S. debut in 2002 with the album Jinx. Their biggest hit Stick 'Em Up is still being played throughout the world and was most recently used in two major Hollywood releases early this year.

Thanks for posting this... but unfortunately it's just a rumor. This is not going to happen - and that's confirmed by the band. I asked them about it the day after this article was released.
Shame too because that show would have been incredible.
I don't know why Gaukur told me this was just a rumor. I just contacted Solvi, and he assured me that Quarashi WILL reunite for this concert! Here is the email he sent:
Me: "I know I asked this before, but I have been hearing more and more about it. Is Quarashi performing live July 9th live in Iceland? I was told this is just a rumor but now the host of the festival has contacted me saying this is official news.
Is this still a rumor? Thanks again for any response. "
Solvi: "Hi Dray... yes indeed. We are reuniting on 9.th of july... the old quarashi lineup (hossi, Steini -, me) and the later quarashi lineup tiny, omar, steini, me... I am forwarding this mail to Birgir our press agent who will mail the press announcement to you. Also check Quarashi official on fafcebook best regards S "
The press agent then indeed email me the press release, excuse me for saying this was just a rumor. This is great news!

I saw the Egg album on Ebay last week, just can't afford it at the moment. One CD I really want a hard copy of is "Kristnihald Undir Jökli". It looks like this is becoming as rare as the "Switchstance" EP.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will use them in the future. Right now I uploaded "2001", a rare instrumental track for March's rare download of the month. I hope start doing these at a more steady rate soon! www.quarashimusic.blogspot.com

Time for me to step up and be a bit active here on the forums I guess. When it comes to files I used to have a lot of stuff, sadly my harddrive crashed and back in the days I was not into backing up stuff. Lost a lot of Quarashi stuff there. Maybe I will try to restore data from the harddrive somehow in the future. That would be great, if possible. Almost all rare Quarashi files have been destroyed over the years because of hard drive crashes and such. I even contacted Kari Sturluson (Quarashi's manager that supposedly kept every Quarashi file ever made) and his PC crashed too. Point being that any surfacing of rare Quarashi material seems to be solely up to the fans at this point. New stuff is still popping up every once in a while - so there's still hope.

Great news! Solvi told me about his new music, but I don't remember him saying he is in a band. I thought it was all solo work. Regardless, I'm excited and can't wait to hear it.

The EMI promo that I have came in a jewel case with a back insert and a sticker on the front. If you have any scans or pics let's see 'em!

I'm curious, do you have any scan you could upload of the front and back artwork of that EMI promotional copy of Xeneizes, and a higher-res cover of KUJ. Maybe a KUJ disc scan?

Haha yeah I've learned the same thing. Thankfully there are still a lot of Quarashi fans out there. They just don't know places like my site or this forum exist - or they just don't care to participate... but proof is shown on Youtube every once in a while. If you check regularly you'll find an extremely rare Quarashi song or video uploaded to Youtube every 6 months or so.
One thing I had always wanted to see but never downloaded while it was available was the Straight Jacket video. Thankfully someone uploaded a clip of it to Youtube after all the years.
The point is there are still a lot of fans out there who have collected material just like you and I have. If it weren't for them, literally, my site and this forum would not be.
